Mission towards zero waste

As a social company we want to take responsibility for our world. And we don’t want to burden the environment too much. We always try to develop the best and most sustainable alternatives for our packaging. The protection of our products always comes first: Because a damaged product that has to be thrown away is bad for everyone. Keeping that in mind, we work towards ensuring that our packaging is made of renewable or recycled materials.
We have found a very good solution for our bottles: We make them entirely from recycled plastic. We were the first on the German mineral water market to do so. By choosing our bottle, you not only help to avoid about 200 tons of plastic waste per year, but also contribute to the fact that no new raw materials have to be used. The bottles of our hygiene products are also made from 100% recycled plastic.
For the packaging of our hand creme and toilet paper, we were able to replace a part of the plastic packaging with chalk. For other products, such as chocolate and bar soap, we use paper wrapping if applicable.
Our mission is to help people in need all over the world. We do this with our 1+1 principle of matching each sold product with an equivalent product for a person in need. Now we have the chance to have a positive impact on global plastic waste as well - which directly affects people too. We can go beyond optimizing our packaging and promoting recycling in Germany and contribute to better waste management in international projects. That is why we are choosing to become plastic neutral with Cleanhub.

Share decides to take action against marine plastic pollution

Share placed the order for the recovery of 1000KG on June 29th, 2020

Cleanhub engaged its collecting and sorting partners in Vijayawada, India to fulfill the order

Order in progress!

1. Collection: Edavanna, India

It all started with Jabir Karat, Founder and CEO of Green Worms Waste Management. With the vision for a world with zero-waste he started Green Worms.

The company runs door-to-door collection services to intercept waste even before it enters the environment. The collection efforts are performed by women self-help groups - giving employment opportunities to the most vulnerable.

2. Sorting: Kozhikode, India

After collection the material is sorted into recyclables and non recyclables. The recyclables are sold on local scrap markets, while the non-recyclables are sent to Co-Processing.

80% of all collected material is non-recyclable and thus has zero value. The system relies on contributions from companies to cover the costs for collection, sorting and logistics. Every contribution helps Green Worms to expand the model across India - to intercept plastic waste before it is littered and at risk to enter the environment.

3. Logistics & Safe Recovery

Geocycle runs logistics and ensures the safe recovery of all plastic waste.

Geocycle (LaFargeHolcim) offers leading waste treatment solutions based on a unique industrial process called co-processing. It refers to the simultaneous recycling of mineral materials and recovery of energy within one single industrial process: cement manufacturing.
